Virtues to Live By
At St Patrick's, we have chosen 6 Virtues as a special focus for each academic year. This helps deepen the childrens' understanding and appreciation of the role they play in creating people of God.
To help bring the Virtues to life each week, we:
- Share good examples in Celebration of the Word and in KS2 Sangam (Celebration Assembly)
- Award weekly certificates in class for a child who has best lived out the Virtue. KS2 classes vote for this child.
- Scripture readings and activities for home are shared with families on the newsletter each week to involve everyone in our work.
- Hymns are selected for each half term to deepen the understanding of the Virtues.
- Seek opportunities to support charity both at home and at times of need across the world.
- Support the good work of CAFOD, especially taking inspiration throughout the Jubilee Year.
Living our vocation to be protectors of God's handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience.
