We are proud to work with all the Catholic schools across our two local authority areas, particularly as the Trust grows and benefits from the expertise and knowledge that other schools joining in the future will bring.

Living Our Mission: October Highlights

This October, we embraced the Jubilee Year theme: Opening the Door to Peace.

Our Mini Vinnies have begun decorating a Peace Post with heartfelt messages of hope and encouragement, inspired by the words of Jesus:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

As part of our commitment to understanding and respecting different faiths, we marked Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Children took time to reflect and express love and kindness by decorating heart-shaped messages, reminding us all of the power of compassion and forgiveness.

We focused our devotion on Mary, Mother of Jesus, throughout the month of October.  Decorating rosary beads, praying together at lunchtime and devoting our talents to Mary.

Year 3 enjoyed praying the Hail Mary together outdoors and delivered the Hail Mary to each class across school.

Year 1 children helped to create a 'Mary Tree' in the KS1 playground:

We can pray here at lunchtime... I can say thank you to Mary

"I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled" Luke 1:38

During Black History Month, we explored the lives and legacies of inspirational individuals from both the past and present. Through stories, music and creative activities, children learned about the courage, achievements, and contributions of people who have helped shape a more just and compassionate world.

Year 6 used their Celebration of the Word for KS2 to teach others about their Catholic Social Teaching theme of Rights, Responsibilities and Justice.

Year 5 lived out their Catholic Social Teaching Principle asking others to donate to the Welcome Centre Food Bank.  They want to make sure they help to care for the vulnerable.

It was wonderful to see the children think of this project as a class and live their faith in action.

Happy Diwali!

It is a joy to celebrate a time of light and happiness with so many of our lovely children!

Thankyou to all of the children who helped to decorate the room and make preparations for the week.

We celebrated Diwali with rangoli patterns made on paper and created with coloured rice in place of flowers!

We enjoyed learning about the Goddess Lakshmi and how she is welcomed into houses during Diwali to bring wealth and prosperity. We decorated Lakshi's footsteps and hoped she would visit during celebration Sangam to bring us good fortune for the half term holidays!

Reflection

As we journey through October, we are reminded that faith is not only spoken—it is lived. Every prayer whispered, every act of kindness shared, and every celebration embraced brings us closer to understanding and sharing God’s love. Let us continue to open doors to Peace:
— in our school
— in our community
— in our world may our school be a place where the light of Christ shines brightly in every heart, guiding us in peace, love, and unity.
