Living Our Mission: February Highlights
With Christ in our Hearts and Minds, we continue to seek opportunities to love out our mission...
Feast of the Presentation in the Temple
Year 5 volunteers led a beautiful Celebration of the Word to explain the story of Simeon and Anna meeting the Holy Family in the temple. Through prayer, dance and symbols, the whole school gathered to hear their mission: How can you be patient and trust in God like Simeon?

Simeon took Him in his arms and praised God, saying:“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace.For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”Luke 2: 28 - 32
Celebrating Ministry
We face challenges with resilience and faith! Just as Jesus asked the Disciples to follow Him, we have been busy celebrating our own opportunities for Ministry.
- 'Bible Guess Who' was great fun in lunchtime Mission, where we learned about new individuals from the Old and New Testament.
- Fish were decorated by children when we had read the story of Jesus at the Lake Galilee.
- We held a sticker event, inviting those who follow Jesus to wear a scripture quote proudly to show their faith.
- Bright Lights decorated the new class candles for Celebration of the Word. It was fun to see the different symbols of faith they used.

Still Point Prayers - Every Wednesday
On Wednesdays, we pause to find peace in the middle of busy weeks and open Mission Control for a time of quiet and more spontaneous prayer.

Reflection
February is a busy calendar month this year, as we recognise both the beginning of Jesus' public ministry in Ordinary Time and then prepare for the Lenten Season. We have been guided with light in all we do - a reminder of our faith and trust in Jesus.
With Christ always in our hearts and minds, we continue on our mission:
To face challenges with resilience and faith;
To always love learning;
To be kind and respectful to others.
Jesus spoke to them, saying 'I am the light of the world.' ” — John 8: 12
